The Building Industry Bargaining Council (Cape of Good Hope) has announced the annual builders' holiday, which is to start at close of business on Friday the 11 December 2015 and the industry re-opens on the 11 January 2016.

BUILDING INDUSTRY AGREE ON WAGE INCREASE

The Building Industry Bargaining Council (Cape of Good Hope) has announced the wage increases for the Building Industry applicable from 1 November 2015. The parties concluded a three year wage agreement in 2013 and the current agreement will expire at the end of October 2016. These increases are applicable from 1 November 2015.

CIVIL ENGINEERING INDUSTRY BARGAINING COUNCIL ACCREDITED

The Bargaining Council for the Civil Engineering Industry (BCCEI) has been accredited by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to handle all civil engineering sector disputes. This means that companies that are not members of the South African Forum of Civil Engineering Contractors or employees who are not members of the Building, Construction and Allied Workers Union or the National Union of Mineworkers, but fall within the civil engineering industry, can now derive the same advantages as those companies and employees who are members of these entities.
